River Island Silver Plated Accessory - Clean it up?

Question

Recently i bought a silver looking accessory from river island.Ive only had it a few weeks but its got some part that are turning copper/bronze colour.Is there any way to get rid of this colour and make it silver again? Because it makes my once nice accessory look cheap and tacky .. please help , thanks

Don't use acid! I dunno what the answer is but that will cause it to go bronze even more. I dunno really try paint? lol sorry, only wanted to say don't use acid.
