shops and resturants... and as far as cash..is it easier to get traveler checks or just take cash??? its been along time since i've been.... thanks.

Your bank cards are the safest to take.

Thee are A.T.M.s all over and you will get the rate that your bank is giving on the day of the transaction.(Plus a usage fee of $1.50)

If you are going for a while then Travelers checks are a good option in the unlikely event you lose your cards.

I always like to have contingency plans including #s to cancel credit cards that are lost and found by"Jose" and taken to his cousins store and maxed out.

Due to improvements in tourist security you dont have to worry about leaving money in your hotel or taking it with you when you go out on the town.

If you are going to club it ,check first that they accept your credit card and take a Taxi to your hotel.

To avoid any ugly fare disputes ask how much in advance how much the ride will cost.

I asked a cab driver if a certain club was open.  He said "I think so" I said "What do you mean "You think so.  He said I mean "I think so"  O.K I said if its closed I am not going to pay you.  He said O.K.but if it is you pay me double!!! lol

I agree, take traveler's checks for backup and plan to use your ATM card and credit cards because they are widely accepted. Just do yourself a favor and contact the banks assoicated with your cards to alert them that you will be traveling abroad and inquire about the fees that will be charged to you for using your cards.

Use ATM is the best method-best exchange rate.

I usually take some American express Traveller's Cheques in case of emergency, but haven't used it in 25 years of travelling to Mexico.
