Riviera or maritimo?

hi everyone my dad was thinking of buying either a maritimo 52 or riviera 51 and i'm helping him decide of one. he was going to get a riviera 56 but our boat pen isn't big enough. can anyone please provide me with the good side and bad side of each one and give me there opinion of the better boat. we have been on both because ourfriends have them. thankyou

Go with what works and what you like it will make you much happer in the end. If you don't like something it will always be in the back of your mind.

Both nice boats depending on what you want the boat for. The same guy has designed both (Barry Bill Cotter) but obviously the Maritimo is the later design.

It would also depend on the fitout; engines, gen, audio, extras as this adds to the base price considerably.

The biggest piece of advice would be to evaluate the dealers as much as the boat as there will be issues with the boat in the first few months (every single boat has them!) and you want the best dealer who will react to you and provide good service, not one that is just a good salesman - talk to the service manager and his team.

It really is a personal choice but personal recommendations can also go a long way.

I think the Riviera has nicer lines if you like sport fisher types. It will likely have Cats instead of Cummins. I think Cats are better.

Honestly, these are glamour tweaked cookie cutter replicas of old Hatteras of Midnight Lace  Sport Fisherman.

For between 1.5 and 2 mill....jeez... I could buy an old Hatteras or Fexus Midnight Lace which are way more classy and pedigreed...I can repower with some nasty horsepower...put a really horny inflateable on a hydraulic platform out back...get a new wet bar built on the boat and get a new Ferrari.

More money than brains my friend.

I wouldn't buy either boat. Not impressed.
