    He wanted the Philippines to be a part of Spain and Filipinos to become Spanish citizens instead of an independent nation..

  4. It's not as if Rizal refused to encourage or support the revolution against Spain.  He just had a different way of "revolting" against them.

    Bonificio was for armed struggle or "armadong pag-aaklas."  Rizal's revolution was more on a "peaceful" revolution that aimed to free us from Spain less the bloodshed.

    Bonifacio's weapons were guns and bolos while Rizal's were his writings.
