Rizla Suzuki rider Alvaro Bautista looking to finish German Grand Prix in top six – MotoGP news
Rizla Suzuki team rider Alvaro Bautista is now ready with his GSVR to score a top six position at the upcoming MotoGP event, the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.
The ninth premier class event of the ongoing 2011 season will take place at Sachsenring on July 17, 2011.
Bautista said, “I cannot wait for the race to come - it will not be soon enough for me! I made some really big steps at Mugello in both the race and the test. We now have all that info to use at Sachsenring and the rest of the tracks this season.”
The Spanish rider further added, “I think we are capable of running with the top-six or seven at most tracks now and just need a little bit of something to get us there - I don't know if it's luck or what it is, but we will keep trying until we find it!”
The German Grand Prix will move into the second half of the 2011 season and Bautista aims to maintain a top six position in the rest of the season. His best finish of the season yet is fifth at Jerez under wet conditions. Though his start was devastated
by a crash and a broken femur at the season opener event at Qatar, he has progressed well after his comeback.
The Spanish rider proved his progress in the Italian Grand Prix and fought until his bike lost front-end grip midway through the race. Due to that, he dropped down in race positions.
Bautista likes to race at the Sachsenring circuit. In past, he has scored three podium finishes at the German venue. In his opinion, it is a tough track to tune the bike for and if somehow the required race package is sorted, it becomes fun to race at the
circuit.
The most important characteristic at the German track is the grip on the shoulder of the tyres. The team looks forward to work out hard and prepare to set the Suzuki GSVR as needed. The initial adjustments have been started but the official preparation will
begin after the race weekend starts.
