Rizla Suzuki team hoping to improve for Italian Grand Prix with better package – MotoGP news
MotoGP Rizla Suzuki team are hoping to put up an impressive show at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix scheduled to take place this weekend.
Spaniard rider Alvaro Bautista with his Rizla Suzuki team has moved to the Mugello circuit for the race. The Italian event will be the eighth round of the 2011 MotoGP calendar.
The near mid-season event will be held on July 3, 2011 at the Mugello circuit, situated south of Italy.
Bautista said, “I really like the Mugello circuit; it is very fast and great fun to ride at. It holds a lot of good memories for me because it is where I won my first 250cc race in 2007 and I have also been on the podium there a couple of times.”
Sole representative of the Suzuki team, Bautista will practice to get more grip out of his Suzuki GSVR. Bautista faced the same issue in the previous Assen Grand Prix. The track was very slippery after some rainfall early in the day.
With warm and dry weather conditions at Mugello, the team expects that they will not have any grip related issues. The anticipated conditions will help Bautista to improve himself and his Suzuki GSVR.
The Italian round is very important for many riders in different aspects. The Mugello circuit is one of the fastest circuits on the MotoGP calendar. It holds average lap speed of 175 km/h and a maximum speed of 360 km/h while the total track length is 5.2
kilometres.
Bautista further said, “Last year I was still struggling with my shoulder injury, but I am going there 100% fit this time and determined to do well. The track has a new surface and hopefully that - and hotter weather - will help us to make the bike more
competitive.”
The team is collectively making an effort to change the results as he also said that the team deserves a better fate which can make a significant difference in the season standings.
In the past, Bautista has won at the Italian venue in 250cc class and two more podium finishes on different occasions. Let’s see how he fares in Mugello this weekend.
