Rizla Suzuki’s Alvaro Bautista will continue race fitness for French Grand Prix - MotoGP News
Rizla Suzuki’s sole rider, Alvaro Bautista has been concentrating on his recovery by joining a training programme to enhance his physical condition and race fitness to compete in the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France at Le Mans on May 15.
Bautista made a stunning recovery and got back on track at bwin Grande Premio de Portugal on May 1, after just six weeks of his accident where he fractured his left femur. The Spaniard got a fracture during a test session run just before the season opener
round at Losail circuit of Qatar.
Alvaro then shifted to Spain for further treatments and surgery. He missed the first round Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar after the accident, as John Hopkins took his place in the Rizla Suzuki team. The third round was a come-back event for him and he
raced with great energy, as his leg was not in full strength. Now he is eager to get back on his Suzuki GSV-R and make up for the two rounds he missed in the start of the MotoGP season.
Alvaro said, “I have been working hard since the Portuguese Grand Prix and test to improve my fitness and get ready for Le Mans and the rest of the season. It was great to be back on the bike at Estoril, but it showed me that I still have some work to do
to be up to race fitness.”
The Spanish rider is planning to compete at Le Mans in an improved health condition, as compared to his last race event at Estoril. He is also determined to do much better than his last season’s French GP appearance. His focus is to run through the final
lap this time as previously he could not make it to the finish line at Le Mans circuit that also affected the rest of the season for Bautista.
The season has just passed three rounds to the date, so there are many races left for the Suzuki team and Bautista to prove his competence. The Spanish rider also participated in the post-race test after the Portuguese GP, which gave good results for the
team. The Suzuki GSV-R is now loaded with a newly designed chassis which is a great improvement and the team will put this upgrade to use at the French GP.
