Rizzitelli blasts Enrique’s possession football tactics: Serie A news
Former A.S Roma striker, Ruggiero Rizzitelli, has taken a swipe at the current club manager, Luis Enrique’s tactics of possession football.
Enrique has failed to live up to the expectations of the fans, as the club has suffered six defeats in the 13 league games played thus far. Even the fans have started to lose patience with the Spaniard and they protested for the
sacking of the manager after the team’s disappointing 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina last weekend.
Rizzitelli has questioned Enrique’s tactics of possession football and believes that it is more of keep football, as the players take a lot of time to release the ball. The former Italian international added that he feels disappointed
to see the club’s best player, Daniele De Rossi, being deployed in an ineffective role.
The former Bayern Munich star believes that playing in a professional match is different to a training ground match. The 44-year-old doubted the future growth of Enrique’s project and believes that it has no direction attached
to it.

exercise. It’s only natural the fans are starting to lose patience, especially in a demanding city like Rome.”
Rizzitelli added that former Barcelona B coach has signed players, who do not match his playing philosophy and that is the main reason behind the team’s ongoing failures.
