i'd actually just like a little more information about the origins of dumbtalk. why is it so popular? it seems like it would be really difficult to type like that constantly. unless they are actually twelve year olds, in which case I'VE GOT SOME 'SPLAININ TO DO

It's codespeak, where people who consider themselves "cool" type things a certain "in" way to make it harder for other people to understand, while being obvious to other members of their group who they are. The theme is "I text a lot, and I can't be bothered typing things out so those other people can read it easily".
