Roach: Some people think Manny is no longer good enough at his game – Boxing News
Hall of Famer Freddie Roach believes that Pacquiao’s fight against Bradley would be a day for Manny to prove his mettle. According to Roach, a lot of people around the world think Manny has lost his stint, which is why the Filipino is compelled to put forth
a great performance in order to impress fans and the naysayers.
According to Roach, “I think Manny Pacquiao realizes that some people in the world think he’s not that good anymore maybe; that he’s washed up a little bit, because his last three fights haven’t been the old Manny Pacquiao, and I think he has something to
prove to people.”
It is true that Pacquiao’s last performance against Juan Manuel Marquez last year was not impressive, due to which the Filipino has faced criticism from all over the world. According to most analysts, Pacquiao is no longer the speedy and dangerous fighter
he once was. However, Roach dares to make a statement here by saying that Pacquiao still has his speed and power intact and he will prove it to the world against Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
On the other hand, Bradley thinks that he is younger and speedier and more powerful than the Filipino icon, which will give him an edge over Pacquiao. According to Bradley, it will just take around ten second for Pacquiao to know what he is up against.
Roach, who has repeatedly criticised Bradley’s fighting style, believes Pacquiao will end the unbeaten American by the sixth round via knockout. However, Bradley believes that Roach is unaware of his skills and speed, which is why he is uttering stuff he
should not.
Lastly, Manny Pacquiao, who will be defending his WBO welterweight title, believes he is 100% ready to give Bradley h**l in the ring. According to Pacquiao, he is ready to face whatever Bradley has to offer.
It should be noted here that this fight is important for Pacquiao to win, as it will decide his future opponents. A win could lead him to Mayweather, whereas a loss could lead him to retirement.
