I bought a roach motel and I want to know if Im suppose to bait it like people bait mouse traps. Will baiting the roach motel attract more roaches? We got new neighborhs on the second floor and I seen one roach in the bathroom. We have never had roaches here in the apartment we live in. First time in the 3 yrs Ive been here. BTW...I also bought Combat gel.

  1. you do not have to bait the roach motel. All you have to do is place it where you want it on a flat surface. Give it a coulpe of days and the roach or roaches should be gone after that. I am not sure about the combat gel. My parents have used it before and have said it works pretty good.

  2. boric acid is excellent, too

  3. You do not need to bait roach traps as they come with an attractant already. However they only kill the roaches that enter. In order to eleminate the problem, you will need to spray or put down some other type of insecticide (like boric acid) that they will take with them back into the walls and kill the rest of the colony

  4. I even put those little sticky traps in the dark corners, try those even after you treat your apt.,to catch later unwanted visitors. Good luck/ bugs suck!

  5. Get any powder that is mostly boric acid.  That is what you need to get rid of the nests once and for all.  Put the powder into the spaces where pipes enter the backs of cabinets, behind refrigerators, etc.  Just make sure it's not accessible to pets or children.  Within two weeks the roaches will be gone.

I once got rid of roaches in an entire apartment house in Virginia with boric acid.  This stuff totally works.  The other things are expensive and I don't trust the chemicals they use.
