  1. Yes, I know that this can definately be done as I know someone who has a Quad bike.

Why ? Because a Quadricycle is Class 'B'

NO LIMITS - NO MAXIMUM CC

  2. Fortunately for you, the first two answers are totally wrong.

Trikes and quads are Category B1 on a U.K. driving licence.  You can drive Category B1 if you hold a full licence for either car (Category B) and / or motorcycle (Category A).

This I know, as my other half drives a trike (Category B1, same as a quad) and she only has a car licence.

The D.V.L.A. website will confirm that I am correct.

  3. a quad has 4 wheels so comes under car not bike, you are not restricted to cc and you dont legally need to wear a helmet but i would advise you do because bumble bees get big and if they hit you in the face at speed it really hurts. but i would look into insurance befor you buy because some quads are hard to get insurance for especially the high end ones like the 600 banshee

  4. Short answer: no. You can't ride anything without an engine before you pass at least a motorcycle test.

Edit; i meant WITH an engine, lol. My bad..

  5. hiya mate no you need a full motobike lisence to ride these here in the uk no matter what the cc as cbt cert only covers you up to 125cc and road legal dont go that low in cc also the same if you obtained your car lisense before a certain date that only covers up to 125cc

    hope that answers your question

  6. Yes you can.

Check you licence you should have full entitlement for Cat B1. This covers 3 or 4 wheeled light vehicles (up to 550kg) such as  quads, trikes, Reliant Robins etc.

You get given Cat B1 by passing a test in either Cat A (motorcycles) or Cat B (Cars)
