Road bike,how many miles?is my time good?

i recently enjoy cycling as if im a kid again.nearby is a 44mile nice paved cycling trail and i ride it in 5hrs. thats 88miles there and back.im wanting to lose about 10lbs also.any tips from u pros?and tell me about my time.thanks

  2. If you're fairly new to cycling that's a very good time if your riding solo. A significant goal of many riders is hitting the 20 mph average mark. Sounds like you well on your way. My 1st goal would be to ride 1 hour at 20 mph. Give it a go.

    As far as losing 10lbs, if you ride 88 once every week or 2, throw in 2 or 3 30 mile rides a week and eat fairly well you'll loose 10 in no time. Your lucky to have such a long trail to ride take advantage of it.

  3. well i have to tell you 88 miles in 5 hours is 17. 6 mph. that is pretty good. a 5 hour ride is a long one and if you had not trained in a while it is not bad at all. joing your local bike club and strat riding more and more. get in to the sport and you will get faster and better.
