Road noise, anything I can do about it?

Hi, my friends out there,

thinking to buy a nice home, but there is some concern about traffic noise? thinking maybe I can out a wall or sth? how much it may cost? thanks!

You can put in a low wall or plant some ever green bushes close together low to the ground. Most noise comes from the tires and the vegetation will help this.

Cut out a wall?  Not sure what you mean, but we just moved into a house that is very, VERY close to the major through-way in and out of town.  I've gotten used to the noise during the day, but it was the traffic noise at night and early morning that was driving me crazy.  I got a noise machine, that plays either white noise, rolling surf, etc.  That cancels any outside night noise.  good luck!!

Insulate your walls and install new acoustical windows

It will dramatically reduce the noise
