Roaming Airtel costly from Delhi to Bangalore, can i change?

hi, i had my Airtel number in Delhi with a 222 Rs charge. i relocated to Bangalore last week and i did few calls and these untis vanished. i was told my number is on roaming (costly!!!)so i have to take a new number here in Bangalore to be charged local. but i wanna keep my number, what to do ?

Best to purchase a new local sim card. Any company. Is what I do while travelling.

Roaming costs a lot.

You could keep this cell and # for receiving but not use. Then send the new number. Even SMS in roaming is a lot.
