in Week 13 – NFL Recap

Despite the absence of Peyton Manning and Colts poor performance, the game between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts turned out to be an exciting one. This is what the Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell had hoped for. As it has been in most cases
in the past, the encounter between the two rivals was a closely fought one.
Three touchdowns by Rob Gronkowski followed by three touchdowns off the kick of Adam Vinatieri in the fourth quarter kept the game alive. New England have now won nine of the fourteen games held between the two sides. The Patriots were favourites in the games
as the Colts had lost all their 11 games this season. But contrary to every ones expectation, the Colts put up a brave fight.
As the first quarter ended the Patriots had managed to take the lead 3-0 with the help of a 30 yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski. The Colts struck back in the second quarter as Adam Vinatieri went for a 31 Yard field goal to equal the score but not for
long. Eleven minutes later, Rob Gronkowski scored a touchdown off an 11 yard pass from Tom Brady to take the lead which they would maintain throughout the game. Just two and a half minutes later, BenJarvus Green-Ellis went for another touchdown off the kick
of Stephen Gostkowski to extend the lead 17-3.

to give his team a large margin over the Colts.
The fourth quarter began with hopes low for the Colts. However an amazing hard effort by the Colts saw them nearing the Patriots. Donald Brown managed to run 5 yards to score a touchdown. Ten minutes later, Pierre Garcon took a 33 yard pass from Dan Orlovsky
to score a touchdown. There was no way that the Colts could manage a comeback with just two minutes remaining in the game. However, a touchdown by Pierre Garcon on a 12 yard pass From Dan Orlovsky saw them to a 24-31 defeat.
