The Dutch winger claims he is back to full fitness after a refreshing vacation and said that Die Bayern will definitely try to get back to winning ways.
Arjen Robben insisted that Bayern Munich have put behind the frustrations of last season, and aim to win all their competitions in the upcoming campaign. The German club faced defeats at the hands of their arch-rivals Borussia
Dortmund in the league and DFB-Pokal cup, while they also finished runners up to Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League Final.
Robben and his team-mates preemptively decided to take time off for holidays to relax after a long and tiring season and Euro 2012 participation. He said that it was important and physically necessary for the players to get a break
and rest in order to be fully fit for the coming season.
The Bayern Munich player admitted that after a tough campaign and international duty, the holiday was a much needed one and it helped him regain his stamina. Now, Robben is fired up and raring to go for the next campaign and is
looking to help Bayern Munich win trophies.
"We all thought of ways to be as fit as possible for the start of the season. I think that is good. I had a nice holiday of four weeks. It was important. I noticed that I recovered completely. I am fresh and ready for the new season,”
Moreover, Robben believes that if you play for an ambitious club like Bayern, then you cannot be complacent and must fight for every title. He also urged his team-mates to unite and be psychologically strong to overhaul their competitors
unlike their performances of the last season.
"I am of the opinion that you play to win if you are in three competitions. That must be the mentality for us all. At Bayern, you play to win."
