The Dutch winger feels that his international team-mate has made a good decision in joining the German League this season, and insisted that it will turn out to be a great experience for the youngster.

However, the Bayern midfielder is expecting the switch to be fruitful for Afellay in the long term. The Netherlands international claimed he was surprised to see the 26-year-old benched in the games against Olympiakos and Die Roten,
but he feels that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 man will settle down and garner a first team role soon enough.
"I was a bit surprised that he wasn't part of the starting XI against Olympiakos and Bayern, but I believe Ibrahim has made the right decision to join Schalke," Robben was quoted as saying in an interview.
Robben suggested that he needs time to adapt or either the manager is being patient in using him. Der FCB star stated that Afellay has joined a great club in a good league. He further added that the domestic league is very tough
and you need to be in great physical shape in order to compete in it.
"Maybe he still needs a bit of time to get used to his new surroundings or the coach is giving him a bit of time to settle in,” he mused.

"He has signed for a beautiful club in a fantastic competition, though, the Bundesliga demands a high level of fitness, and the national team coach really values fitness as well. It's a good thing for Oranje that he's moved to
the Bundesliga," he concluded.
Afellay has played three matches for the Bundesliga outfit this season, but is yet to get off the mark for the club.
