The former Liverpool striker has admitted that Andy Carroll may not get the playing time he wants if he decides to come back to the club. The striker was sent on loan to West Ham United last season where he showed promise and scored
seven times in the league all season.
Fowler claimed that the attacker was under a lot of pressure in his initial days at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international looked better
in the later stages of the campaign when he tried to play his natural game.
“I think with Andy Carroll, when he first came, he tried to play to the price tag. He looked a much better player when he got to the nitty gritty. No disrespect but, when he plays like a big lump and uses his elbows, he looks much
better,” Fowler was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the former striker stated that it will be up to manager Brendan Rodgers whether to give the tall striker a chance next season or not. He added that Carroll does not suit the Liverpool style of passing but he
may have to work really hard to prove his worth.
Fowler stressed that Carroll will certainly add to the squad but he may get less playing time than he will get at any other club he goes to.
“I think Brendan Rodgers is the man to answer that one. Would I like to see him there? I think Liverpool need as many numbers in the squad as they can. The squad will probably be better with Carroll in it but I wouldn't say he
would play many games,” he concluded.
Andy Carroll has been widely linked with a permanent move to West Ham United in this summer’s transfer window. The only problem is the wages the attacker wants which the London club is not willing to match. There have also been
reports of a return to Newcastle United as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew is keen on bringing the player back.
