Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has hailed the club’s new signing Kolo Toure and is confident that his experience will be a huge plus for the side in the next campaign.
The Reds secured the signing of the former Arsenal and Manchester City man in a free transfer earlier this summer as the defender has loads of experience. The club was short on defensive options as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jamie-Carragher-c17728 retired from all forms of football at the
end of the previous season.
Fowler claimed that Liverpool have made a great signing in the form of Toure and is confident that the Ivory Coast international will prove to be a success at Anfield. The former Liverpool man admitted that Toure did not get first team action at Manchester
City which will motivate him to work harder at Anfield.
“I've played against him numerous times and he is a fantastic player. I'm sure coming to a new club will spur him on that little bit more and he will want to do well. He will want to play. I think he will try hard in training and a little bit of pride will
set in,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to Liverpool’s official website.
Fowler claimed that Toure has consistently performed for the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City and his form in the Premier League has been awesome. He stated that Toure’s class will help http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in a huge way as they currently lack experience in defence
after the retirement of Carragher.
“You look at his performances over the years for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Manchester City - he has been magnificent in the Premier League. Let's hope that he comes to Liverpool and carries on that magnificent form. His experience will be vital for Liverpool, especially
after losing Carra,” he concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kolo-c21278 Toure has made over 400 appearances for both Arsenal and Manchester City in all competitions and has scored three goals in the process. The Ivory Coast international made only 18 appearances for City last season which was the main reason he left the
club. He is keen to secure more first team action in the next campaign.
