Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler, has insisted that Simon Mignolet’s signing will bring a new dimension to the squad. The former striker claimed that the Belgian international has been brought to bring competition for places in
the goalkeeper’s area which is a good sign for the club.

Fowler hailed the signing and claimed that Mignolet was sensational last term with Sunderland. He stated that Mignolet is the type of player Liverpool need as he is young and talented.

Fowler stressed that the player is motivated ahead of the World Cup next year. He insisted that Mignolet wants to be Belgium’s number one goalkeeper in the competition next year and he faces tough competition from Thibaut Courtois
of Atletico Madrid.
The former Reds’ attacker added that playing in the English Premier League will further enhance his chances and the deal will certainly benefit both parties involved.
“He performed well last year in the Premier League, made some great saves, and obviously he wants to be the Belgian number one and playing in the Premier League is certainly going to stabilise that. I think it's a fantastic deal,”
he concluded.
Simon Mignolet has made 13 international appearances for Belgium and has played at every national level. He will be looking to cement his place for the Reds when the next season starts as he is keen to be representing the national
