Robbie Keane moving to Upton Park
Tottenham Hotspur’s out-of-favour striker Robbie Keane is on his way out of White Hart Lane. The striker has reportedly agreed on a loan move to Premier League strugglers West Ham United, who have the option of signing Keane on a permanent basis should they
manage to avoid relegation.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbie-Keane-c31215 has struggled to find a place for himself in Tottenham’s ambitious squad. The striker had been loaned out to Celtic last year after failing to impress in the Premier League.
Manager Harry Redknapp has no need for Keane’s services this season, especially since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 is regularly finding the back of the net. The Ireland international has reportedly been seeking a way out of the London club in the hopes of playing regular
first-team football.
Keane had been the target of Birmingham City in recent weeks, but their 6 million pound bid for the player fell through at the last minute. Now it seems that Keane has finally found a way out of his Tottenham nightmare. West Ham are close to finalizing a
deal to bring the strike to Upton Park.
Hammers manager Avram Grant desperately needs a striker if he wants to have any chance of saving the club from relegation this season. He has found the answer to his goalscoring problems in Robbie Keane. Even though the Ireland international is not the player
he once was, he is still more than capable of making a huge impact wherever he goes.
Keane impressed during his time with Celtic, proving that he still has the golden touch in front of goal. In 16 appearances for the Scottish club, the striker scored a phenomenal 12 goals. That kind of ability is exactly what West Ham need if they want to
stand any chance of avoiding the drop this season.
Keane will form a striker partnership with Avram Grant’s other new signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812. The Hammers boss is going all out in a bid to keep the club in top flight football for yet another season.
Can Keane’s arrival turn things around at Upton Park? We will find out when the striker makes his debut for West Ham United in a few days time.
