http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 manager post.
After http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello resigned, the position of the England manager has been occupied by the England under-21 international coach Stuart Pearce. While Pearce occupies the spot of the England manager, the FA remains on the look-out for a more permanent manager.
So far their favourite has been Harry Redknapp, who was reportedly contacted to take up the position some time after Capello’s resignation. However, Redknapp has refused to take up the position of the England manager as long as he is in charge of Tottenham
Hotspur and he has no intention of leaving mid-season.
Kean, a former Tottenham Hotspur player, has revealed he believes Redknapp would be the ideal candidate for the post of England manager. He said he believed there was a chance Redknapp could take over as manager soon since the FA did not have anyone else
in mind.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“There is certainly only one candidate at the moment. Me personally, I think it's only going to happen that he's going to take over.
The whole of England I think wants him, and certainly the players do, so I certainly think that will be the case.
Whether that's in the next month or so or at the end of the season, I am not too sure. But I am sure the Spurs fans wouldn't be too happy with him leaving because of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 he has done there.”
According to Keane, most of England wanted Redknapp to take over as England manager apart from the Tottenham Hotspur fans obviously. The Spurs have been enjoying a good run under the 64-year-old English manager and would hate to see him go.
Tottenham Hotspur are currently third place on the English Premier League table, behind league leaders Manchester City and Manchester United. They stand a chance to qualify for UEFA Champions League football next season if they manage to retain their top
three position, something that seems as an easy task for them since third and fourth place http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 respectively are seven points behind them.
