Fortuna Dusseldorf striker Robbie Kruse has hailed his national team coach Holger Osieck for guiding his side to a win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 earlier this month. The youngster reckons that Osieck has injected new life into the Aussie squad and the team has been performing
above expectations.
The player also credited the A-League for this transformation. He was hopeful of retaining his place in the side after scoring against Wales in the international friendly. The Aussies won that game by a 2-1 margin.
The 22-year-old believes that his performance against Wales will earn him a recall for the country’s future assignments. He was pleased after scoring his second international goal for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Australia-c746 in just his eighth game. Kruse scored his first ever goal for
the country against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Uzbekistan-c3037 in the semi-final of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. Australia won that game by a 6-0 margin.
The striker expressed delight at the improving quality of football in the country. He credited the A-League officials for this sudden transformation in the Socceroos fortunes. The Dusseldorf player hoped that this upward going graph will keep moving in the
right direction and his country will be reckoned as an unstoppable force on the international arena one day.
While talking to a local channel, Kruse added, “Scoring against Wales is a big confidence booster for me and I also felt I went pretty well overall when I came off the bench in Cardiff at half-time (for an ill Brett Emereton), so I hope Holger Osieck is
pleased with me.”
“He knows the German league quite well and if I continue to improve hopefully I’ll keep making his squads and be back for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thailand-c3020 match, which would be huge for me. Especially playing in front of family and friends. So the pressure is really on for
places up front, which is great for the coach and the country.” He concluded.
Kruse has so far earned three caps for Dusseldorf since joining them during the summer. He is yet to open his account for the club. He made his Socceroos debut in 2011 and has two goals from eight international caps until now.
