Robert Bush wins fifth stage and Francisco Mancebo extends his overall lead in 2011 Tour de Beauce
Chipotle Development team’s Robert Bush won the fifth stage of 2011 Tour de Beauce in Quebec City on Saturday, June 18. Mancebo maintained his overall leader’s yellow jersey.
Bush took a total of 2 hours, 56 minutes and 45 seconds to cover a distance of 125.1 kilometres. David Boily of Spidertech Powered by C10 was the runner-up with the same timing of Robert.
Bush said, "Once I did that I thought - if I keep feeling good toward the end then I am going for the win. It worked out. I knew it was the good breakaway, it was hard on the first few laps, but I knew I could win once I made it over the steep hill on the
last lap."
Bernard Sulzberger of Australia was in the third spot and Christian Meier of United Healthcare Pro Cycling finished fourth.
Glen Alan Chadwick of Pure black racing tried his best to catch the six cyclists, but he failed and grabbed the seventh spot with a difference of 4 seconds.
A group of three cyclists made their first breakaway including, Alex Howes (Chipotle Development), Francisco Mancebo Perez (Realcyclist.com Cycling) and Bernardo Colex Tepoz (Amore & Vita).
All the riders built a lead of few seconds over the peloton, but Alex was in good form so he took the first sprint. Although, in the final sprint Jacob attacked, but failed, Robert won the final sprint.

won the stage.
Boily said, "After the first KOM, PureBlack Racing was setting a really hard tempo then everyone slowed down a bit and a few guys went away, a bigger group formed and we were working very well. There were a lot of teams in the breakaway so everyone was cooperating."
