Robert Cowell’s charge Spirit Quartz to land victory in the King´s Stand Stakes
Prohibit and Spirit Quartz will be tough to beat in the Group 1 King´s Stand Stakes (British Champions Series & Global Sprint Challenge), at Royal Ascot on 19th June, 2012, where they will take on the five furlong track for
the purse of £198,485.
Trained by Robert Cowell, both these runners have the skill, talent and all the elements needed for winning, and with a bit of luck, no goal is unachievable.
The seven-year-old, Prohibit, will have to work a bit more than, Spirit Quartz, considering he has not been able to secure a placed finish in his last five starts.

Since he achieved the victory in this race last year, it is now time for him to defend his title, which will not be an easy task considering the level of competition, but it’s worth a shot anyway.
The son of Oasis Dream, out of mare Well Warned, defeated the Danny O'Brien trained, Star Witness, by a narrow margin of half-length and claimed the King’s Stand Stakes on 14th June, 2011, where he was led to victory in the
capable hands of rider, Jim Crowley.
The advantage that, Spirit Quartz, has his age, but the obvious disadvantage is the lack of experience.

The four-year-old gelding has scored four times in his fourteen starts. He finished four times as a runner-up and thrice in third place - which adds up to 11 placed finishes in his career.
The son of Invincible Spirit, out of mare Crystal Gaze, claimed a Group 3 victory in the Premio Tudini at Capannelle on 7th May, 2011, where he claimed a narrow victory over, Dagda Mor, by a head.
The Qatar Racing Limited owned runner demonstrated his star potential in the Multiplex Achilles Stakes at Haydock on 1st June, 2012, when he finished second to, Excelette, by a neck.
It seems like Spirit Quartz will step up his game and finally land himself a victory in the Group 1 category, and chances are that he will dethrone Prohibit and claim a solid finish.
Either way, it will be Robert Cowell who saddles the victor for the second consecutive year in this prestigious race.
