Robert Guerrero claims Manny Pacquiao is an easy fighter to beat – Boxing News
Robert Guerrero, former world champion, has regarded Manny Pacquiao as an easy to defeat fighter. Surprisingly, Robert believes the 8-division pound for pound king has lost his stint and is vulnerable now.
“I think about [fighting Pacquiao] all the time. The way Pacquiao comes in is reckless,” said Robert Guerrero in his recent interview.
Of course, with Robert’s statements, it is pretty apparent that he wants to be a part of Pacquiao’s legacy. After all, every world fighter today wants to fight the Filipino to prove his mettle.
“I have done the homework on Pacquiao. I would use the long jab and go with a triple and quadruple jab. I would change my whole game plan,” added Robert.
Robert Guerrero is surely a top class pugilist, yet a match with Pacquiao is impossible. The Filipino is currently seeking Floyd Mayweather for a fight in 2013. In addition, a rematch with Timothy Bradley and a fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez is in
the queue for Pacquiao. Therefore, Pacquiao’s chances of accepting a match against Robert Guerrero are rare.
Currently, Pacquiao is being lined up for a match against Marquez, at least that what everyone is expecting. He cannot get his hands on Mayweather, since the WBC champion is in jail completing his 90-day sentence.
According to Bob Arum, a rematch against Bradley is unlikely this year, as fans are not really interested in watching Bradley take on Pacquiao once again after the controversial victory. Hence, Pacquiao’s fourth match against Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez
is the only show left for the Filipino to go for.
Pacquiao met Arum last week to discuss the possibility of fighting Floyd Mayweather this year. After the meeting, Arum revealed, “He (Pacquiao) kept a true poker face. I explained to him everything that is going on and what we thought, but he didn't give
anything away. He just listened and took it all in.”
As of now, it is up to Pacquiao whom he wants to fight next. Most fans and analysts are predicting Marquez will be the next opponent for the Filipino.
