Robert Guerrero reckons he can put a real show with Amir Khan – Boxing news
The southpaw World Boxing Organization and World Boxing Champion interim lightweight belt holder Robert Guerrero wants his promotional stable mate with Golden Boy Promotions’ Amir Khan in the ring.
The 24-year-old Khan was in negotiations for a potential bout on July 23, 2011 against the World Boxing Organisation and World Boxing Champion junior welterweight champion Tim Bradley. However since the negotiations have fallen apart, Khan has named Guerrero
as a possible opponent, although International Boxing Federation’s junior welterweight champion Zab Judah is also on the board.
Meanwhile, the Southpaw Guerrero is confident as he reckons now his Khan-Guerrero fight could become a reality.
The Ghost, Guerrero (29-1-1, 18 knockouts) in the meanwhile also believes that the World Boxing Association’s junior welterweight champion Khan should go head up with him, as he thinks this fight will really turn on the fire.
The 28-year-old Guerrero said, “I think that it would be a great fight with me and Amir, and I think that we should go head up. We’re two of the best fighters out there, and it’s the type of fights the fans want to see. The fans want to see the best fighting
the best, and me and Amir, you know, we are two of the best fighters in the world. So I think that it would be a great fight.”
He admitted he knows about Zab Judah and while speaking on his inclusion he said it was all in the air.
He remarked he did not name Khan specifically with the Golden Boy Promotions but it was all over the internet where everybody seems to be saying, “Hey, you know Amir Khan says that he really wants to fight you.”
He stated he always wants the best fight and said Amir Khan, who received Fight of the Year honours from the Boxing Writers Association of America, is one of the best fighters in the world.
