Robert Guerrero visualising a war against Marcos Maidana – Boxing news
The former International Boxing Federation’s Super Featherweight champion and a former two-time IBF featherweight champion of the world, Robert Guerrero is going to face one of the toughest tests of his career so far as he takes on the El Chino, Marcos Maidana
on August 27, 2011 in front of his home crowd in San Jose, California.
The 28-year-old Argentinean combatant, Marcos Maidana is considered as one of the hardest hitting boxers out there whereas the Ghost, Guerrero, on the other has defeated every opponent he has faced since 2008.
Therefore, the American believes there is going to be war on August 27. He told the media he is visualising a war against Maidana as he always comes in the ring to fight.
Guerrero, who has won 29 of his 33 professional fights (1 draw, 2 no contests) with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, revealed he is very excited about his fight against Maidana, as he thinks Maidana is a feared slugger.
Guerrero, who vacated his International Boxing Federation’s Super Featherweight championship belt due to his wife’s battle with Leukaemia, also added he is putting in his 100 percent in training so that he steps in the ring in the best shape of his life
on August 27.
“I am just visualizing the fight and going over my game plan, just zeroing in on being 100% prepared for when I go in the ring. Seeing my punches connect and throwing combinations. I am visualizing a war. I can’t wait to get in there, so the fight just goes
through my mind,” he said.
He added, “I feel excited. I get excited for every fight. But when you are dealing with someone that you know is coming to fight it makes you step up your game. Right now everything is about visualizing.”
The Guerrero-Maidana bout certainly has all the hallmarks of being an absolute classic. However, let’s see whether Robert Guerrero really has what it takes to shrug off one of the best boxers in the Light Welterweight division.
