Stoke City defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Huth-c31243 has recently signed a new three-year contract extension with the English Premier League side which will keep him at the club until 2016.
Since moving to the Britannia Stadium in 2009 from Middlesbrough, Huth has gone on to become a key player in Stoke City’s defensive line-up. He moved to Stoke City for a fee of 6 million pounds and helped the side remain in the Premier League.
Huth revealed he was extremely pleased to have signed a new contract with Stoke City before the start of the new season. He revealed he had three fantastic years at the club and was pleased to be able to continue on with them in the future.
Along with his contributions for the club, which helped Stoke City perform relatively well in the English Premier League, Huth was rewarded with the Player of the Year award for two consecutive seasons. That just goes on to show his level of commitment and
contribution for the club.
Huth said while speaking to reporters:
“I've had a fantastic time here, the best three years of my career. It's been great to play a big part in the club's progress over that period, but also to gain some personal recognition with the Player-of-Year awards which I won at the end of the last
two seasons.”
Meanwhile, Stoke City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis revealed he was also pleased with the fact that Huth had signed a contract extension with the club. He praised the 27-year-old defender for his fantastic performances for the team over the past three seasons.
He also expressed the happiness of the supporters at Huth’s commitment to the club and revealed it was a huge boost for Stoke City going into the new season. Pulis said in an interview:
“Huthy stands out as one of the best signings this club has made since we were promoted to the Premier League, so it's fantastic news that he is staying put for the long term.
It's a massive boost for us all and I know our supporters will be especially pleased because they have really taken to him since he joined us.”
