Robert Kubica, another surprising weekend in Brazil
After a fluctuating performance in the past few races the Renault driver, Robert Kubica, now shuns to predict anything for the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix.
The anti-clockwise Interlagos Circuit is a very unusual arena on the Formula One calendar and also the weather there remains unpredictable. On this weekend, just like the last race in Korea, heavy rainfall is expected on the track.
In such a situation Kubica thinks that nothing could be predicted for his race or for any of the other drivers. Moreover, this season has unwrapped in such an unpredictable manner that making any guesses would be a very brave thing now.
The last race of the season, the Korean Grand Prix left three of the top five drivers, Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel and Jensen Button, without any points. On the other hand, Kubica, despite having poor qualifying was able to do pretty well on the final
race day, bagged 10 points at the end of the day.
Kubica refrained from creating a lot of hype for his team, despite the fact that he believes that the track is going to suit their R30 nicely. He went on to say that the F-duct of their car is expected to do well on the high speed straight-lines of the track,
although, he is a little concerned about the bumpy areas of the track.
While talking to reporters Kubica said, “Brazil is a bit of a strange track and it’s really difficult to predict how we will perform, there is a long straight out of the last corner where the F-duct will give us lots of gain and this is also where the power
of the engine will be important”.
The last two races in Brazil have had heavy rainfall, and, this year the weather remains very unpredictable. As per some early reports, mild showers were expected in the morning but now the local forecast reports said that it could be dry with scanty clouds
in the sky. Yet, everyone knows that weather in that part of the globe in November could change instantly and dramatically.
While talking about the weather, the Polish driver said, “I think that we might have a lottery with the weather because Brazil gets unsettled conditions at this time of year, so it’s likely we will have some wet running, as we did in 2009. When it rains
the track has very poor grip and you have to be lucky to get the perfect balance with the car”.
