I am a Kimi fan and it was bad news for him with Hamilton Crashing into the back of him, but great win for Kubica and I don't think it will be his last this year.

Also with him now leading the championship do you think he could stay there till the end? It is unlikley but then again who expected a BMW Sauber 1-2.

  1. He's tall. He's skinny. He has a receding hairline. He's not exactly a pretty boy like Nico Rosberg. I don't think he has many female fans like Nico, Lewis, Kimi and Alonso etc.

    Does he care? Probably not.

He is intense. He has intentionally starved himself in order to lose weight so that he can lighten his car. Medicos would not recommend such rapid weight reduction for fear of excessive muscle loss and drop in physical performance, but what he lacks in physical strength, he makes up for it by sheer mental strength. He has that steely determination about him.

He is a no non-sense type of guy, in the Mark Webber mould. He just gets on with the task at hand. The way he carried himself on the podium in Canada was impressive. Not so much emotion. Just pop the champagne, spray it around then walk up to the edge of the podium platform, and without a second's hesitation, drops the bottle for the engineers down below to catch. During the post-race interview, he just answered questions without tears, emotion...just purely technical stuff as well as the mandatory thanks to the team, family, supporters and sponsors.

You think Kimi is an iceman. Now Kubica is another.

Can he win the championship? Well why not? If he wins every time Ferrari and McLaren slip up, he could well do it this year.

2009? If BMW Sauber keep up their development, he'll have to be the favourite to win the title next year.

  2. Great stuff for BMW Sauber. They've been very fast this year. They've been faster than Renault on more than one occasion. Tremendous progress being shown by them. I wouldn't like to be Frank Williams, lol

  3. I don't think the BMW's are quite up there with the Mclaren and Ferrari's just yet. In a fair fight, they still would not be able to beat them.  However Kubica is right up there with Kimi, Massa and Hamilton. He has been the most consistent this year and he's made the least number of mistakes.  I don't think it's his last podium or win for this season either, he'll always be lurking waiting to capitalise on a situation but i don't think they can win the championship this year, the silver and red cars are just too strong.

  4. I like Kubica but he wont win the championship not this year anyway.

  5. OMG!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!  KIMI IS FRICKEN AWESUM!!!!

I really do like Kubica though, he's pretty intense, but he won't win the championship, the season isn't even at the half way mark yet!!!

Happy to see there's a fight for the title again, even happier that Alonso isn't in that fight!!!!

  6. the only thing consistent about this year is the inconsistency, so though i think its unlikely, i can't say it's imposable

  7. i would to see kubica with kimi at ferrari!!!

  8. No i dont think so. Ferrari and McLaren are to strong and to far ahead in technology.

  9. I think it was extraordinary circumstances in which he won, but he ceratainly deserves his win.

As for staying top though, I think it is unlikely, but anything is possible in F1, just look at the last race.

  10. I think this guy is great. No-one had heard of him when he came onto the scene, but I think he can hold his own with the best.

My Top 4 F1 Title Challengers ( In No Order )

    Kimi, Lewis, Felipe, Robert.

  11. I hope he wins the title as I have £20 on at 20-1.

  12. I think he is great, as much as it was unfortunate for Lewis on Sunday it was great to see Kubica and Heidfield up there showing that they do have it.

I do think that Roberts attitude is going to be a lot stronger as he has been "given" a bone, now he has just got to keep focused and not lose his bite.

This is why i love F1, its not about 1 person or 1 team, it was only the fact that Lewis took the British by storm last year that the other newbies didn't really get as much media time as they deserved. Now Lewis has either been accepted or not, his hype has died down quite a bit and now we can focus more on Robert , Heiki, Nico, & Nick

  13. well Canada was always a tipsy tovery place anyway!

i think he could win it like kimi did last year. but i have a feeling that won't happen. but a BMW 1-2 finish was brilliant!!!

  14. It was great to see him win... but I think it was Lewis' race to lose... which he did... I see him winning again... but a championship at the end of it all? nope...

  15. I don't think he will have another win for a while.

Kubica won with the simple premise of lots of retirements on a track that was not at it's best.

Had Lewis "I can't see red lights" Hamilton not buggered it up in the pit lane incident; he would have had the win in the  bag.

I agree- Kubica has pace, talent, and determination. But the probability of him being a consistent winner; and a championship winner is quite low; mainly due to his car more than anything else.

  16. I think it was awesome that he won, though I support Heikki actually. I'm sure whether he wants to stay at BMW or not, they'd want to retain him for as long as possible. Kubica's got enormous potential and I believe that he is an ideal driver for any team to have. He seems to be quick and consistent when the car's good, and that's what a good driver's got to have.
