Robert Kubica sees no chances of F1 return in near future – Formula 1 news
Former BMW Sauber and Renault driver, Robert Kubica has said that there are very small chances of his F1 return in the near future, but insisted that he will still work hard for it.
Kubica had a severe accident in 2011 at the Ronde di Andora rally and was seriously injured. Resultantly, he had to leave the sport as his forearm was critically damaged.
Although, he has been able to take part in other forms of autosport after recovering from his injury, however, has failed to make his way back into F1.
The Polish driver has said that he really misses racing in F1 and is living a very boring life after his accident. Nonetheless, he said that he feels satisfied with what he has in his life and just concentrates on his driving.
In addition, he said that his arm is getting better with the passage of time and there is a chance that he may comeback in F1. However, he said that it is very difficult to return to the sport in the near future.
“If I can move my arm again [freely], there is a chance that I will return. But until that happens, we'll have to see. There’s no chance of me coming back to Formula One soon,” Kubica said.
Besides, he said that he is waiting for the time when his arm will be recovered completely and he will be able to sit behind the wheel of an F1 car. Therefore, he asserted that he will not feel upset and will keep on working hard to rejoin the sport in the
future.
“The strength, the power in the arm is not as good as it was, but if this was the only problem then two months of treatment and that would be gone,” he said.
“There has been slow progress this year. That is life. I will not gain anything by being frustrated. It is very simple. There is no other option than to keep pushing, keep working,” he added.
Let’s see whether the veteran driver will be able to make his comeback in F1 or not.
