Robert Kubica’s manager Daniele Morelli uncertain about Pole’s recovery time – Formula 1 news
Robert Kubica’s manager, Daniele Morelli, said that it is not clear as when the Formula 1 world will see the injured Pole back on track.
He said that it is satisfactory to know that he never had any infection to his hand, elbow and knee following the three long surgeries. On the other hand, Kubica says he will be out on tracks in three months and the doctors say he is for bed for at least
a year.
“Robert is recovering well,” Daniele Morelli said, “But at the moment it is impossible to predict if and when he returns to racing. We must distinguish between our optimism and the indulging of fanciful assumptions.”
The other important thing that Morelli told was that last week Kubica decided not to sue the Ronde di Andorra rally officials who had not taken care of the guardrails. As Kubica’s co-driver pointed out that there was a gap between the fencing which went
through the car. Morelli said that the police investigation is underway and it will prove everything that happened on that day.
Kubica faced a life threatening crash almost a month ago where he severely injured his right arm and injured his elbow and knee. At first, it was thought that the accident is fatal but Kubica came out of it. Then there were rumours that he will never be
able to use his right hand from a Formula 1 driver’s perspective. A couple of weeks ago he was reported moving his fingers and hand which, as Doctors say, is a positive sign.
Meanwhile a lot of friends and FIA officials are taking some time out to meet Kubica as Fernando Alonso visited him and said, “He is recovering from his operations and is bored with the 16 or 17 hour days with nothing to do.”
The FIA boss Jean Todt also visited the injured Pole and wished him best of luck.
Kubica’s stand-in Nick Heidfeld is making his position in Renault more firm as Eric Boullier keeps on saying that Heidfeld is the best replacement for Kubica. It will be interesting to see when Kubica recovers and makes his return to Formula 1.
