The Polish international has insisted that he is currently happy with his stay at Westfalenstadion and that his focus is on winning the Bundesliga for his side.
Borussia Dortmund have been in amazing form this season and are currently level on points with leaders Bayern Munich, just lagging behind on goal difference. Jurgen Klopp’s side is on course to retain the Bundesliga title at the end of the season but they face stiff competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Schalke.
There have been reports in the past week that the Bavarian giants had enquired about Lewandowski as they look for a replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399, who is set to leave in January in search of regular first team football.
The striker denied any such rumours and claimed that he is happy at the club. He insisted that his main focus is to continue scoring goals for the side and lead the club to the Bundesliga title again this season. However, he refused to rule out a move in the summer transfer window by stating he is not thinking about the future now.
“I am here at BVB and am concentrating fully on our tasks. We still have a long second round in front of us, and then comes the European Championship. I am playing for Dortmund and that is my focus,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Borussia Dortmund Chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke also brushed aside these rumours and claimed that the striker is going nowhere. He insisted that the Polish international has proved that he is an integral part of the side and his departure is certainly not on the cards.
“I laugh myself to death. There was no conversation and there will be none. There is no reason to talk about it, it is not an issue,” the CEO added.
