Robert Milkins not building a castle in air during his run in 2012 Wuxi Classic – Snooker Update
After winning his first round match, the 2011 World Snooker Championship runner-up and the World Number two, England’s Judd Trump told the media that he is aiming high to win the 2012 Wuxi Classic. He believed it was time to step up especially when legends
like the four-time World Snooker Championship winners, Ronnie O’Sullivan and John Higgins are not around.
However, his hopes were all trashed by the talented Robert Milkins who did not give any chance to Trump to gain control of the game. Despite the fact that he was unnerved completely by the 22-year-old Trump in the first session but still he maintained his
game sprang back in the second session with full might. He toppled down Trump with his classy game play as he amazingly won four straight frames to finish the game at 5-3.
Milkins’ victory over Trump was a result of his sheer will power and determination. Milkins worked really hard in the second session and nudged his tough opponent down. The Englishman believes that Trump played well but it was just an odd miss that gave
him an opportunity to sweep the table in the second session. Besides, Milkins played keeping his feet on the ground rather than building a castle in the air.
In his post match interview with World Snooker, Milkins said, “It's just nice to win a game like that to tell you the truth. I think you just take every match as it comes along really. It's alright playing well in one game but then with snooker you never
know how you're going to play, you never know what going to happen the next game.”
The English potter added, “I feel alright now, but who knows tomorrow night, I might not be able to pot a ball, it's just the way the game is. So I don't really look too far in the tournament, I just play every match as it comes and then if you keep winning
before you know it you might be in the final.”
Milkins successfully booked his place in the quarter-final stage where will face the winner of second round clash between Ricky Walden and Joe Perry.
