Robert Pavoni captures Men’s 400m IM gold – 2013 British International
Robert Pavoni of Loughborough University captured gold medal of the Men’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) of the 2013 British International in Leeds, UK, on Saturday, March 9.
The 22-year-old Pavoni remained in a prominent lead over his opponents and surfaced on the finishing end for the gold medal. He did not face any trouble from his opponents throughout the race and cruised his way towards the wall for the title.
With his impeccable pace, Pavoni remained one and a half body length ahead of his closest competitor and tapped the wall for first position with a time of 4 minutes and 19.23 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Matthew Johnson of Co Sheffield, who was 1.73 seconds apart and stepped on the finishing end for a silver medal by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 20.96 seconds.
The second best finisher was traced by Max Litchfield of Donc Dartes, who was 0.49 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end for third position by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 21.44 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Xavier Mohammed of Co Cardiff, who was 0.37 seconds behind and tapped the wall with a time of 4 minutes and 22.81 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Thomas Haffield of Co Cardiff, who was exactly one second behind and clocked a time of 4 minutes and 23.81 seconds.
Similarly, Haffield was followed by Nicholas Grainger of Co Sheffield, who remained 0.23 seconds slower from his former finisher and hit the wall with a time of 4 minutes and 24.03 seconds for sixth spot.
Granger was traced by Lewis Smith of Warrender Ba, who stayed 0.39 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and touched the wall with a time of 4 minutes and 24.43 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Chris Suggitt of Swim Swansea, who was only half a body length behind and surfaced on the finishing end by posting a time of 4 minutes and 24.98 seconds.
In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades at the prize ceremony of the tournament.
