The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 player has hit back at Raymond Domenech over his comments regarding the French 2010 World Cup squad. Pires went described his fellow Frenchman as incompetent and one who has an oversized ego.
Following the publishing of Raymond Domenech’s book, All Alone, a series of controversies have surfaced regarding the French national team that participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup that took place in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757 two years back.
The former manager called the French squad a bunch of imbeciles and said that he had become sick of his players so much that he was prompted to leave for good.
Following this outburst by Domenech, Pires accused him of having an oversized ego and said that he was an incompetent manager who didn’t have the ability of putting the team together, nor the inspiration that can lead them to victory. He said:
“He is and always has been a bad coach, and criticism from him does not affect me."
The former French international blamed his fellow compatriot for Les Blues’ inability to win any silverware. He went on to state that:
"He had incredible generations of players and never won anything. Since 2004, I have said he was totally incompetent, and I was right."
It was widely believed that Domenech didn’t seem to enjoy a good relationship with the French team, despite that he was handed the responsibility of leading the team to World Cup. The French national team’s qualification was itself a close call, when they
