The 37-year-old says that he is willing to hang up his boots but also indicated that he is still going to evaluate any offers that come to him for his services when the ongoing 2010-11 season ends.
Pires is currently playing with Premier League side Aston Villa and his current deal at Villa Park will run out by the end of the current campaign. Although he previously hoped that he would be looking to extend his contract at Villa, it seems that Pires
is now having after-thoughts about an extension at the Birmingham-based club.
Since joining the club at the turn of 2011, Pires has made only 4 appearances under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Houllier and due to this, he is considering a possibility of announcing retirement from the game. But the former Arsenal player admits that he is still looking to
evaluate his situation if a good offer comes from abroad.
While talking to the media, the dynamic midfielder said that he is prepared to leave the game if nothing happens but added, “But I am also ready to go wherever an interesting proposition comes from, be it http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 or the US. I've even had an offer from Australia.”
He also said that the reason of him getting noticed is because he is playing in the English Premier League and knows that people still remember him. It still remains to be seen whether Pires will renew his contract at the club if a good offer comes from
abroad.
The former France international won the World Cup with Les Bleus in 1998 and then was an integral part of the France side that beat Italy in the final of the 2000 European Championship to lift the title.
Pires made his name at club level when he joined Premier League giants Arsenal and under manager Arsene Wenger, he had a terrific time at the club. He made over 189 appearances for the club and won the Premier League twice while lifted the FA Cup on three
occasions.
