Robert Streb records tournament scoring record and wins the Mylan Classic

Robert Streb fired a seven-under par 64 on Sunday, for a tournament record 18-under par, to take the first ever Web.com Tour victory of his career, at the Mylan Classic.
Streb, who started off his final round campaign one stroke behind Cliff Kresge, the overnight leader, posted eight birdies against a lone bogey, at the Southpointe Golf Club.
Matt Weibring, Brad Fritsch and Kresge each managed a 14-under par tournament score, to share the second spot on the leaderboard.
"This is awesome. I finally won somewhere other than my home course," said Streb, whose last two victories came at the Oaktree Country Club in Edmond. "I didn't think I needed a 64 today. I figured if I got to 15 or 16-under I'd have a pretty good chance.
The 64 didn't hurt. It gave me some breathing room”.
Streb tied for the third place in hitting the fairways and tied for the top spot in putting in the tournament.
During the final round, he surged to the top early in the day, by carding five birdies against a lone bogey on the front nine.
The back nine also witnessed him play some superb shots off the tee, as he managed to hit every fairway and missed only two greens. By and large, no one in the field was able to get close to him on the leaderboard.
"I've gone through spurts where I putted really well and spurts when I hit it really well but I kind of strung it together this week," Streb said. "I felt like my game was really good today. The putter was working well and I hit a few close which made it
a little easier”.
After the victory, he also moved from the 23rd position to the fourth spot in the Web.com Tour money list. This also strengthened his chances, to make it to the tier one PGA Tour for the 2013 golf season.
In the meantime, the two-time tour winner Ben Kohles earned the sole fifth spot, with a 13-under par tournament score. His final-round score was four-under par 67, which included six birdies and two bogeys.
