Robert Zbogar conquers Men’s 200m back-stroke title in Kranj: 2011 Slovenia Short Course Nationals
Day two of the 2011 Slovenia Short Course Nationals got off to a flying start with several sizzling swims of the participants in Kranj, Slovenia, on Friday, November 25.
Robert Zbogar outperformed his rivals of the arena including Yuval Safra and Vid Velickovic by banging the finishing divider in an attention grabbing blot of 2 minutes and 01.53 seconds to claim Men’s 200m back-stroke title.
In the meantime, Safra thrashed down his challenger, Velickovic by striking the finishing blockade in an exciting mark of 2 minutes and 03.47 seconds to earn silver title of the platform. In addition, the bronze medal was captured by Vid Velickovic in a
time of 2 minutes and 19.06 seconds.
More importantly, Zbogar claimed his second gold title in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley race of the second evening session at the event by thumping the finishing barricade in a nerve wrecking spot of 2 minutes and 01.01 seconds. Meanwhile, Aleks Kostomaj
earned second place honours in the respective race by claiming the finishing barrier in a time of 2 minutes and 06.98 seconds. The bronze medal went to Matjaz Zorman in a spot of 2 minutes and 12.87 seconds.
Additionally, the Men’s 800m freestyle crown was taken over by Yuval Safra in a winning mark of 8 minutes and 13.13 seconds. Nejc Jurjevcic claimed silver medal by bashing the finishing wall in a winning time of 8 minutes and 18.66 seconds, whereas, the
bronze title went to Martin Bau in a spot of 8 minutes and 20.84 seconds.
Last, but not the least, the Women’s 800m freestyle title was clinched by Anja Klinar in a winning blot of 8 minutes and 31.34 seconds. Meanwhile, Tanja Smid earned silver title in the respective race by whacking the finishing blockade in a time of 8 minutes
and 31.39 seconds and Ursa Bezan snatched bronze medal by smacking the finishing fence in a time of 8 minutes and 39.99 seconds.
Due to their matchless swims, Robert Zbogar, Yuval Safra and Anja Klinar were awarded accolades after the close of the session.
