Roberto Carlos: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 more important to Real Madrid than Lionel Messi is to Barcelona
Former Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos has stated that Ronaldo is a crucial part of the Madrid side whereas Barcelona can do without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 as there are other names who can take the responsibility from the Argentine.
He claimed that Ronaldo’s role for the Los Blancos could be pivotal for Real Madrid's success in the Spanish League and in Europe.
Real Madrid will face their fierce rivals, Barcelona, four times in a matter of 18 days; in the Spanish League, the Copa del Rey final and the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Roberto Carlos praised Messi’s brilliance but insisted that Ronaldo was a vital part of the Madrid side and that it would be very difficult for the Los Blancos to cope without the Portuguese wizard. The Brazilian added that the
Madrid giants depend heavily on the former Manchester United winger whereas the Catalans have the likes of Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta to score goals, if Messi does not.
“I really like Messi's style of play. However, Ronaldo can do much more for Madrid than Messi can for Barcelona. Madrid really depend on Ronaldo to perform well, while Barcelona are so much more than Messi. That's why I think Ronaldo
will be more decisive,” the former Brazilian international was quoted as saying.
The veteran acknowledged Barcelona’s style of play and admired their intensity on the field. He claimed that Madrid have also improved as a team in the past year or so and stand a chance of beating http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 in the Spanish Cup
and the UEFA Champions League.
“The way Barcelona play really is something special that you don't see a lot. They make everything look very easy and really seem to be enjoying themselves on the pitch. Madrid have also really improved though this term. They're
taking a lot of criticism, but they've reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and the final of the Copa del Rey,” the Anzhi full-back concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Carlos-c31317 scored 67 goals in a total of 514 appearances for Real Madrid in his 11-year stint at the Santiago Bernabeu.
