Current Chelsea boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo has admitted he believes Blues striker Fernando Torres has a psychological problem that he can overcome if he tries.
The 27-year-old has been somewhat of a flop at Stamford Bridge since joining from Liverpool in the last January transfer window. He has managed to score just five goals in over a year, a very poor record for a world class striker like the Spaniard.
Di Matteo, who took over after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked as manager of the club, decided to drop http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 who scored the winner in the 1-0 win over Stoke City.
Di Matteo said in an interview:
“He has a psychological problem and only Fernando can unlock it. If he needs me, I am always here but it is obvious the change must come from him.”
According to the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-c13609 Torres suffered from a psychological problem which had hindered his progress with the London side. Di Matteo revealed he was there for the player, but expected him to sort himself out.

He revealed:
“He must concentrate only on playing and not about scoring, or providing an assist or making a great play every time he touches the ball. He should not think about scoring goals, only about playing simple football. The rest will take care of itself.”
Di Matteo felt Torres had to regain his confidence, which would undoubtedly make him into one of the best strikers in the English Premier League once again. The Italian believed Torres was still one of the strongest forwards in the world but currently lacked
confidence.
The Italian manager continued:
“He just needs to regain his confidence. Fernando is still a great striker and I am sure he has not forgotten how to score goals.
He is one of the strongest forwards in the world.”
