Roberto Di Matteo criticises referees
West Bromwich Albion manager, Roberto Di Matteo, has criticized match officials for several call made during his teams matches. He insisted that the referees need to improve their decision-making abilities.
The Italian manager for the Baggies claims that the poor decisions from the match officials could severely affect their Barclays Premier League survival campaign. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Di Matteo’s team was not awarded with a penalty in their last game against Wigan after
the opposition defender appeared to handle the ball inside the 8-yard-box. Moreover, Di Matteo also feels that his team should have been given a penalty against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385, when West Bromwich’s player seemed to be fouled in the penalty area.
"It's frustrating me and I'm disappointed. We're not asking for any gifts, we're just asking for key decisions to be right. It's been the third one in four weeks for us, and it's not a 50/50 one, it's a clear decision.”
Roberto Di Matteo also claimed that his team deserved a penalty against Manchester United, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Neville-c14447 tackled Graham Dorrans inside the box. Even Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, admitted after the match that it should have been a penalty.
Roberto Di Matteo urged match officials to be fair because such decisions could make or break a club’s season. With only one victory in the last eight Premier League matches, the Baggies boss claimed that the referee’s decision might prove vital in their
Premier League survival campaign.
"I really hope that it's not going to be the case. I hope that if there is a case for a penalty, that they get them right, and that's all you can ask for."
West Bromwich Albion’s in-form midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Brunt, agrees with his boss and claims that his team has been unlucky in the last few matches. He said: "It probably does happen at every football club, but it does seem to be highlighted at ours at the minute.
We've had a couple of harsh ones recently, definitely."
West Bromwich Albion, which is one of the newly promoted clubs in the Barclays Premier League, will play their next league match against Premier League title contenders, Manchester City. The Baggies, who are currently placed 16th and are only
two points above the relegation zone, are in a precarious position. They have been boosted by the addition of Arsenal’s on-loan attacker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Odemwingie-c29794, who just returned from an injury.
West Brom signed Vela during the winter transfer window in order to bolster their attacking options. The Mexican made his Baggies debut in a 2-2 draw against Wigan Athletic and Roberto Di Matteo has claimed that he was impressed by Vela’s performance. Graham
Dorrans is also expected to return this weekend against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Citizen-c38808, after recovering from an ankle injury.
