Chelsea caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo has revealed he is willing to consider the possibility of moving abroad if he can’t secure the manager’s position at the club on a more permanent basis.
After leading a struggling Chelsea side to the FA Cup and a comfortable sixth place finish and a spot in the UEFA Champions League final, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo will not have a shortage of job offers regardless of the result of the European Cup final.
The Italian manager has previously managed sides in England, MK Dons and West Bromwich Albion. However, he revealed he would not be hesitant in heading abroad if he had to. He admitted he was prepared to leave England and take up a job in another country,
especially since he already spoke three languages.
Di Matteo said while speaking to reporters:
“Fortunately, I speak three languages, so I'm quite open-minded.
But I've been in England for a long, long time. My family is here with me. We quite like it here in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.”
Despite the caretaker manager having done such a brilliant http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 manager Pep Guardiola. If that is indeed the case then Di Matteo can be expected to part ways
with the London club.
For now though, Di Matteo revealed he was focused completely on the upcoming UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich. He admitted it was the biggest prize in football and that the entire team would be working towards achieving it.
He revealed:
“It's the biggest trophy you can win, as a club footballer. To be able to join an elite group of clubs, that would mean a lot to us.
We've never won it as a club. To be able to do so would mean so much to everyone involved. The players, the supporters - it would be absolutely magnificent.”
As for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss Andre Villas-Boas, Di Matteo revealed the young Portuguese manager had to be credited with leading the team to where they were.
Di Matteo added:
“He's taken the team, and the club, to a certain point. For sure, if we manage to go all the way, he deserves some credit too.”
