Di Matteo said in a press conference:
“No, no, no. I feel part of this club. I focus on the team and the players, and what we're looking forward to in the next eight days.”
When asked if he felt he would be sacked at the end of the season, Di Matteo revealed he felt he was a part of the club. The Italian manager said he was entirely focused on the team and ensuring they were successful in their last few remaining games.
He revealed:
“That's a question you'd have to ask him. Certainly, Chelsea as a club, we always expect to be challenging at the top.
It's been a difficult season with ups and downs, but we've still got two games and one that could potentially still turn it into a great season.”
Di Matteo believed the questions regarding his future should be left to Abramovich, since the Russian billionaire would ultimately make the decision. Meanwhile, he revealed he was focused on winning the UEFA Champions League with the group of players who
had been simply terrific ever since he took over as manager.
Di Matteo continued:
“To be able to play in the Champions League final, for these players, is a magnificent opportunity for them and the club."
The effort and commitment from the players has been fantastic. I couldn't have asked for more.”
