semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League...
Di Matteo has launched a scathing attack on the F.A and their schedule for the F.A Cup semi-final as Chelsea are might have to play two big matches within just four days of each other as they are already through to the F.A Cup
semi-final and are on course to make it to the Champions League semis as well.
Di Matteo who has brought about a positive change at Chelsea since the dismissal of Andre Villa Boas expressed his disappointment at F.A’s tendency to disadvantage teams from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 in European competitions due to their scheduling
process.
Di Matteo’s team are not yet in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League as they still have to play the second leg of their quarterfinal tie against Benfica but the Blues did win their first leg in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 by a solitary goal
and kept a clean sheet in the process as well. Chelsea’s form of late in the Premier League has been on the up as well but it is their focus on cup competitions this season that has seen them make the semi finals of the F.A Cup where they take on fellow Londoners
Tottenham Hotspur.
Di Matteo said, “Look at the other federations: they give their teams the best possible preparation, playing even a day before rather than the day after, whether you are due to play on a Tuesday or Wednesday. It does make a big
difference, absolutely, that 24 extra hours.”
He added, “We've tried to communicate with the FA, and to co-operate with the FA, and it's disappointing that common sense hasn't prevailed. I'd have been happy with a Friday night kick-off but it seems as if our point of view
has not really been taken into consideration.”
