http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo feels that his side can still make it to the top four, before the current season comes to an end.
The Blues went on to lose to Newcastle United last night and as a result of that loss, many believe the team is going to find it hard to make it back into the top four before the season comes on an end.
At the same time, with the team now set to play in the FA Cup final and the Champions League final, it seems like they might not be able to focus all their energy on their remaining fixtures.
Despite this fact, Di Matteo believes that his side has what it takes to make it back into the top four and secure an automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League for the coming season.
When talking about his team, their performances against Newcastle United, the Blues in charge was quoted to have said:
"In the first half we couldn’t raise our tempo to where we needed it to be"
"In the second half we were much better and we pushed Newcastle back into their half and created a few chances.”
"Newcastle did well tonight, they defended well and had two shots, two goals. They have a player who, when he touches it, it goes in.”
The manager then admitted that it would be hard for his side to go on and make it back into the top four, but admitted that the team had the right mentality and spirit to get the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 done and that they were going to try their best to carry on and make it
as far as they could.
"It's going to be difficult now for us to get fourth spot. The season has proven difficult. We will keep pushing to the end though – we won’t give up."
Chelsea now need to maintain their focus on all the competitions that they are a part off, since a slip up at this point in the season could prove to be rather disastrous for the team.
It is also up to Di Matteo to help the team maintain their focus and move forward.
