http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323: Carlos Tevez wants to stay with Manchester City
Following the euphoria of their maiden FA Cup win in over 50 years and last night’s elation of moving into the automatic UEFA Champions League qualification spot, Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini has come out and
said that talismanic Argentinean striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez wants to stay at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The future of the 27-year-old has been under considerable doubt as it was reported in the media recently that he was homesick and wanted to play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858.
Since then, there had been a number of Brazilian and Argentinean clubs lining up to secure his signature but his performances
have been absolutely top notch over the past couple of weeks and his two mesmeric goals last night gave Mancini another reminder about the quality of this striker.
"He has a five-year contract and has told us he wants to stay, he said it before. He never had any problem." Said Mancini after his side’s 3-0 win over Stoke last night.
In recent times, media reports had emerged linking Tevez with a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 at the end of this season, but Mancini remains committed to do everything in his powers to extend the stay of the 27-year-old in Manchester.
"I think he will stay here next year. He doesn't have a problem. I spoke with him many times in the last 20 days. It is my opinion that Carlos stays here next season. In December he had a problem. But
everyone can change his opinion.
Carlos is an important player here. Carlos has scored 20 goals this season. Every time we say Carlos is an important player. Carlos is Carlos. He is a fantastic striker and a fantastic player for us. The feeling for him is good. Nowhere else can he find behaviour
that all people have for him." Continued the Italian.
It looks like there is a twist in the tale as Carlos now looks to be staying put at the City of Manchester Stadium and there is no reason why he shouldn't be.
Tevez moved to the joint top of the scoring charts in the Premier League by scoring his 21st goal in the league and now appears to be the favourite to win the league golden boot award.
City also look certain to be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season as they have their destiny in their own hands, all they have to do to make sure of their participation in the continent’s top footballing competition
is to match Arsenal’s performance in the last game of the season.
