Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has gone on to admit that his side will need all the luck they can get in order to progress from their UEFA Champions League group.
City have been pooled in what some are considering to be the group of death, with their opponents including Bayern Munich, Villarreal and Napoli.
When talking about his side and their chances of progressing from the group, Mancini is quote to have said: "It is so strong that there is a chance we could finish top and a chance we could finish in fourth position.”
The manager then went on to admit that his aim was to try and ensure his sides progress to the knock out stage, which can only be made possible with a little bit of luck.
"The aim for us will be to qualify for the second stage. The Champions League is a difficult competition. You can have a top team, but you also need luck."
City are going to be taking on Manchester City in their Champions League match, against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, who themselves are making their Champions League debut.
However, Mancini is a little more concerned about his opponents than most would have believed him to be. The manager has admitted that his main fear was going up against Napoli’s strike force which included http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955, a player who Mancini had tried
to sign in the past.
The City boss added: "Napoli are a good team. They play good football, they have a good group of players and they have fantastic supporters. This game will be very hard for us.
"I like Cavani. He is a fantastic striker who works for the team. But they also have Lavezzi, [Goran] Pandev and [Marek] Hamsik - and those players are very dangerous."
Given the circumstances, City’s upcoming Champions League match is going to be one that no one will ever want to miss.
